📣 Enrollment for 2025-2026 is now open! 📣
Welcome to CCNS! We're so grateful that you're considering becoming part of our community.Â
Our programs are carefully balanced to provide opportunities and activities that will help your child develop a sense of independence, confidence, and excitement about the world around them.
By setting the classroom up in centers, children are free to make choices while moving about the room. Our themes change monthly, allowing the children to explore the many concepts in a child's world. The opportunity to make choices while engaging in a variety of art, science, fine motor, gross motor, and creative experiences provides the opportunity for children to engage in problem-solving activities, imaginary play, and social interactions with peers and teachers.
Our preschool curriculum is designed to help each student reach their full potential while providing hands-on experiences and social interactions in a small setting. We strive to help each student develop and grow at their own pace while providing each of them with a sense of accomplishment and success. We utilize the Connecticut Framework Preschool Curricular Goals/Benchmarks and the Connecticut Early Learning and Developmental Standards as a guide for our program goals. The goals, benchmarks, and standards are designed to assist preschool programs in establishing a curriculum that prepares each student for their entrance into Kindergarten.
Special guests in the classroom and field trips add an exciting enrichment component to our regular day, and we also welcome volunteers to share their time and special talents with our classes. We have been fortunate to have such a variety of visitors to our classroom, including Westmoor Park’s farm animals, Roaring Brook Nature Center, Harris in Wonderland’s reptiles, Miss Heather from the Canton library, Canton Police, and Canton Volunteer Fire and Ambulance crew. Our field trips have taken us to Lost Acres Orchard, Session Woods in Burlington, Roaring Brook Nature Center, Simsbury Airport, Mary Conklin land trust property, Petco, Westmoor Park in West Hartford, The Bushnell Theater for a children’s performance, Wadsworth Atheneum for a tour of the museum, and Jonathan’s Dream playground in West Hartford, to name a few.
We use the Seesaw app to send pictures and updates home to families each day, so you can get a glimpse of what your child is doing at school even if you're not there in the classroom with them.
We'd love to offer you a tour of the school, so don't hesitate to contact our director, Kristen Apruzzese at ccnsinfo@gmail.com to schedule one!
Our classes are structured to provide opportunities for large group time as well as small group activities, working with a few peers or individually with a teacher on varying activities. We strive to attend monthly field trips with students to a variety of locations, all of which enhance our curriculum based on the current month’s themes.Â

In order to enroll for the Pre-K program, children must turn 4 by September 1, 2025 and be toilet trained. This program is intended for children who will be attending Kindergarten the following year.
Beginning in March each year, we offer two enrichment programs. We have found that at this point in the school year our students are ready for the additional programs that are being offered. Both have a minimal charge to attend.
Summer camp
For two weeks after the school year ends, we offer an optional "summer camp," which involves a lot of outdoor time and fun in the sun! If you have older children, it extends the CCNS school year to match the public school calendar a bit more.
Lunch bunch
This spring enrichment program is held once a week for our currently enrolled 3's. They are offered the opportunity to stay for an additional hour of programming and to bring their lunch to enjoy with their classmates and teachers.
The following is the tuition for the 2025-2026 school year:
3's, 9:00 – 11:30 a.m.: $13.23/hourÂ

Note: our 4's and 5's stay at school for more time than most other local preschools. We feel it's important to have these older children stay through lunch as they begin to prepare for full-day kindergarten.
We offer a 10% discount on the youngest child of any family with multiple children at the school.
