Kristen Apruzzese - Director/Head Teacher

Kristen Apruzzese is a current teacher at CCNS preparing to take the role of Director and Head Teacher in the 3s and 4s programs for the upcoming academic year. Her career spans years as a Teacher and Assistant Director at Giant Steps Daycare in Pine Meadow, where she led teacher training and oversaw curriculum design and implementation. More recently she acted as Program Coordinator at CT Junior Republic and Director of Moppets Child Care Center in West Hartford. She holds an Associates Degree in Early Childhood education, a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, head teacher certificate, and over 15 years of experience working with children ages 8 weeks to 18 years old. She lives in New Hartford with her husband Jason, two beautiful boys ages 6 and 4, and two dogs.  

Angelica Mocofan - Assistant Teacher

 

Angelica Mocofan is the Teacher Assistant in both the 3’s and 4’s class.  She is currently enrolled at Tunxis Community College obtaining her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Angelica is dedicated, resourceful, goal-driven and plans to complete her degree in Early Childhood at the end of 2022. She is motivated to obtain her Head Teacher Certificate and a new role at CCNS in the future.  Angelica is committed to help create a safe and educational atmosphere for incoming and current students at CCNS.  She feels that a child’s early years are the foundation of his or her future development, where it provides lifelong learning.  “I am very appreciative to be involved with great educators to help me achieve my future goal of being an early childhood teacher while providing me with knowledge about policies and procedures for my future in this field.” Angelica is kindhearted, responsible, and takes pride in her work with our young preschoolers. We are very fortunate to have Angelica as part of our team.  

 

Gabriella Zyla - Assistant Teacher

Gabriella Zyla is an Assistant Teacher at CCNS working in both the 3s and 4s programs. She is also a second-year Master's student at Central Connecticut State University seeking a degree in Health Psychology. The oldest of three children, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, reading, and baking in her free time.

Kim Sullivan - Pre-k Teacher 

Kim is CCNS's Pre-k teacher and lives in Canton. Both of her children had the privilege of attending CCNS. Kim enjoyed serving as the Board President and on a variety of committees during the years that her children attended CCNS. Prior to staying home with her own children, Kim was a Kindergarten teacher for 14 years. She holds a current CT teaching license. Kim received her Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Hartford and her Undergraduate Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina. Kim is passionate about early childhood education and an advocate for best practice in education.
