Sherry graduated from Canton High School and has a degree in early childhood education from Central Connecticut State University.  She has also taken graduate classes at Central and the University of California. She is looking forward to working in the classroom again.  Sherry feels that preschool is an amazing time where so much learning and growing takes place.  “Early childhood education has always been my passion.  I’m so excited to be joining the CCNS family!”

Susan Markowitz 3's Teacher

Susan has a long history with Canton Community Nursery School.  Both of her children, Seth and Ally, are alumni of the school, as well as Susan served as the school's President.  Prior to having children, Susan worked as a paralegal in Bloomfield and was an office manager for a real estate firm in West Hartford.  She stayed home to raise her children, but five years ago she took a teaching position at the Mandell JCC Nursery School in Simsbury. She taught there until the school closed, this past year.  Susan resides in Canton, with her husband David, and daughter, who is pursuing a nursing career at University of St Joseph and their golden retriever and two cats.  Her son attended the University of Miami and resides in Miami.  Susan enjoys spending summers time at the beach, cooking and entertaining.  Susan attended Asnuntuck Community College.  Although her educational background is in business, she has found her passion in teaching preschool.  She believes that early learning is critical for young children.  Each child is unique and it is important to cater learning experiences that will fit each child's needs to enable them to grow to their fullest potential.  "I look forward to getting to know you and your family!  I am so lucky to be a part of the great team here at CCNS!"
